- The concept of a prior distribution, and how it helps the analysis through a Bayes Rule
- Some graphical representation of the Bayes rule
- Various types of priors – Conjugate prior and non-informative prior
- Inferences based on the posterior distribution
- Connection between a Bayes Rule and Minimaxity as well as Admissibility

- (b) Knowledge of Taylor series expansion, polar coordinate system
- (c) Common probability distributions (Binomial, Poisson, Geometric, Normal, Uniform, gamma, exponential, t, Cauchy, etc.)
- (d) Joint, marginal and conditional probability distributions
- (e) Moments and moment generating function of a probability distribution.
Các tài liệu có thể xem trước để bổ túc các kiến thức này (do GS Pal gợi ý):
- There are plenty of online tutorial materials available to cover common probability distributions. This is one fromyoutube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrOXRvG9oYE Please see the other similar videos on the right side menu, and please suggest all participants to go over those.
- Any intermediate level statistics book and get a good background in commonprobability distributions and other statistical tools. One such book is:
